This is Ally, a cute, funny dog, a mix between Golden Retriever and Poodle. Which is to say that Ally is a Goldendoodle. Ally can be pretty smart when she wants to. Some people would say she ought to be an intelligent dog thanks to her heritage. When she is not very interested in training, though, she use to display her disinterest quite well, being tardy and sloppy. The difference is striking, so it is of uttermost importance that your dog likes the training if you should be able to accomplish anything. This is probably a inherent weakness of "set training", which I call this kind of training with standardized set compilations, because the training is kind of repetitive and not always that funny. But at this point and with this compilation, I believe it is quite adequate to call the performance funny, as I enjoyed working with Ally and see her make this right. This Goldendoodle has potential IF her interest can just be kept in at a high level enough. Obviously, the task is to pick one item from the string of funny animals at the time, each one in proper connection with their name. Ally succeded with this and I got this video out of the performance. But Ally didn't learn the set without training. For some time she had some problems with the 9.th item, the "bigfoot" teddy bear. I initiated her understanding of the order with a laser pointer, which moves her attention to the right spot. The laser might only be used during training, not here when recording a full fledged performance. But it shows the art is to having the dog doing right first, then to repeat. Just correct repetitions of set and sub set counts. The laser must be used with great care, because it also takes the focus of the dog from the objects to the laser spot. It have to be used only occasionally and the dog must be trained to regain its focus on the set training when the funny little trick is done.
